2 Dental Rinses To Help Prevent Bacterial Buildup After A Xenograft For Your Dental Implants

If you have recently undergone a tooth extraction, then your dentist may recommend a xenograft procedure in order to rebuild the areas in your mouth that are weak before installing dental implants. Since a xenograft procedure involves making several surgical incisions, then this area of your mouth needs to remain bacteria free until it has fully healed. This can be difficult to do without aggravating the area. However, if the surgical area is left uncleaned for long periods of time, then this can quickly form bacterial buildup. Luckily, there are a few dental rinses that you can use in order to prevent bacterial buildup following your xenograft surgery.

Anise Seed Rinse

Anise seed is frequently used as a staple ingredient in various dishes around the world because of its sweet and spicy aroma. The spice is also a staple in medicinal remedies and oral care products because of its powerful antibacterial properties. These properties make it great for clearing contaminated areas of bacterial build up. You can create your own homemade rinse in order to put a stop to bacterial buildup after your xenograft procedure. Simply put two spoonfuls of the herb into a medium sized bowl and fill the bowl with hot water. Wait to ensure that the entire herb is fully submerged in the water, then put the bowl aside to soak for a few hours. After a few hours, remove the anise seed from the water and add a few drops of lime juice. Use the rinse directly after eating in order to remove left-over food and debris.

Balsam Fir Rinse

Balsam fir has a strong pine scent that makes it popular for use in salves and ointments. The herb is frequently found in medicinal remedies because of its antibacterial and astringent properties. It works as a cleansing herb in order to rid infected areas of contamination. You can create a balsam fir rinse from home in order to get your bacteria buildup under control. Start by placing a teaspoon of the dried herb into a standard sized cup. Fill the cup with boiling hot water and allow the rinse to sit for an hour. After an hour, use the rinse to thoroughly cleanse your mouth. Focus on your gums and your teeth. Hold the rinse in your mouth for a few minutes before rinsing.

Before you know it, bacteria can accumulate in your mouth after your xenograft. Once the buildup becomes excessive it becomes difficult to remove on your own. Therefore, use these tips to keep your mouth clean and bacteria free.
